Golden Eagles take on Colorado Sunday
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The second-seeded Marquette University men's basketball team (26-9,) took part in second-round media availability on Saturday, March 23 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Stevie Mitchell and David Joplin opened media day for the Golden Eagles to discuss their Round of 32 matchup vs 10th-seeded Colorado.
"Our mentality is to stay in the moment, enjoy the moment, have fun and bring our energy which will lead to us being the best us," Mitchell said on mindset for the second round matchup. "Our best us can give us a good shot at competing with and beating anybody."
Head coach Shaka Smart took the podium next for media availability.
"You can't quantify what he (Mitchell) brings," Coach Smart said on Mitchell's energy. "I don't want anyone to think he is some machine that once you hit on, he just does that. He's a human being and for him to will himself to be that type of ball of fire energy-wise is impressive."
MU also participated in closed practice at Nationwide Arena, permitted by the NCAA for each program to have a 90 minute practice.
