NEW YORK — Marquette University defenseman Mason Woodward has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for men's lacrosse after recording four caused turnovers in an 8-3 win at St. Bonaventure on Saturday.
Woodward and the MU defense limited the Bonnies to a pair of goals over the first 59:59 of regulation before a SBU goal with time expiring. The USILA All-American assisted Bobby O'Grady's late first quarter goal in addition to picking up four ground balls in the victory.
Woodward posted at least four caused turnovers for the fourth time in his career and first this season. He's second in program history with 78 caused turnovers, still 24 behind Liam Byrnes' program record of 102.
It is the 10th BIG EAST weekly honor of Woodward's career and the second this season.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, March 30 in Queens, New York against St. John's in their BIG EAST Conference opener.
