Bireley earns second BIG EAST Attacker of the Week honor this season
NEW YORK – Marquette University women' lacrosse collected two weekly league honors, the BIG EAST announced on Monday afternoon.
Meg Bireley is BIG EAST Attacker of the Week and Josie Kropp is your BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week.
Bireley collects her fifth weekly honor of her career and second this season. The junior attacker had a career-high eight points at Niagara on Sunday with seven goals and one assist.
The Glenville, Illinois native had a game-high six points at Detroit Mercy last Wednesday with four goals and two assists. Bireley also had career-highs in ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (3).
Josie Kropp earns her first weekly honor of her career after tallying 32 draw controls in her last two games. The junior had a single game record tying 17 draw controls at Detroit Mercy on Wednesday and 15 on Sunday at Niagara.
Kropp, from Prior Lake, Minnesota, led the draw team that won 48 out of 68 draws last week.
Marquette hosts No. 19 Colorado on Friday, March 8. Faceoff from Valley Fields is at 3 p.m. CT.
