Golden Eagles return to Valley Fields after five game road trip
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's lacrosse team hosts No. 19 Colorado on Friday, March 8. Faceoff from Valley Fields is at 3 p.m. CT.
Friday's game will be broadcast on FloSports with Scott Sudikoff (play-by-play) and Eric Simon (analyst) on the call.
It will be the fourth meeting all-time and first since the 2017 season. The Golden Eagles are 0-3 all-time against the Buffaloes.Â

ONE LOVE GAME
• On Friday, Marquette will be wearing One Love warmups to support the One Love Foundation founded in honor of University of Virginia student-athlete, Yeardley Love.
• One Love is a national non-profit that provides prevention education to young people about the importance of healthy relationships.

MEG BIG EAST ATTACKER OF THE WEEK
• Bireley collected her fifth weekly honor of her career and second this season.Â
• The junior attacker had a career-high eight points at Niagara on Sunday with seven goals and one assist.
• The Glenville, Illinois native had a game-high six points at Detroit Mercy last Wednesday with four goals and two assists. Bireley also had career-highs in ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (3).
JOSIE BIG EAST MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
• Josie Kropp earned her first weekly honor of her career after tallying 32 draw controls in her last two games.Â
• The junior had a single game record tying 17 draw controls at Detroit Mercy on Wednesday and 15 on Sunday at Niagara.
• Kropp led the draw team that won 48 out of 68 draws last week and is 11th in the nation averaging 11.00 draw controls per game.
JOSIE HITS 100 CAREER DCs
• Senior Josie Kropp hit 100 career draw controls after having six in the season-opening win over Cincinnati.
• Kropp has 149 for her career, sixth all-time at MU, and is one of nine players in program history to have 100-or-more draw controls in their career.
DRAW DOMINATION
•  Marquette is first in the BIG EAST and 17th in the nation in draw controls per game (16.67) andÂ
• The Golden Eagles have 24 draw controls in each of its last two games.
FIRST GOAL FOR VELNER
• Freshman Mary Velner had her first career goal in the fourth quarter at Niagara this past Sunday.
• Velner becomes the fifth freshman to get on the goal sheet this season, joining Riley Shultz, Riley Jenkins, Eileen Dooley and Sarah Beth Burns.
