Senior Reflections: Jack Kinney

Kinney is a Defender from Centennial, Colorado
Jack Kinney speaks on his time at Marquette. He has been on the BIG EAST All-Academic team every year at MU while playing in 12 games and causing 1 turnover.
1. What is your most memorable experience with the team?
Kinney: Beating Providence my sophomore year. That game is what got us into the Big East tournament and they are our conference rival.
2. What's the best advice you could offer future Marquette lacrosse players?
Kinney: Be proud of yourself. You are in the midst of a great achievement. Aim to achieve as much as you can.
3. Most memorable game? Why?
Kinney: Beating Penn State in 2023! It was just a great accomplishment and doing that with my friends was surreal.
4. What has motivated you?
Kinney: All of the people who helped me get here. The potential to achieve as much as possible in the mastery of one thing is a great and limited opportunity.
5. How do you think you've changed as a player or person over your career at Marquette?
Kinney: I've learned how to take care of my body and heal better. As a person, I've learned how to commit myself to a process and win or lose put my best into everything.
6. What is your favorite thing about the city of Milwaukee? Why?
Kinney: I love the beachfront and the food. These opportunities you can only find here and it is so enjoyable when the sun is out to experience these things.
7. What have you learned that you will take with you as you move on from MU?
Kinney: I will always try to take the traits of people I look up to and apply them in creating relationships in my life. Things like asking intentional questions and striving to be a positive presence.
8. Who is a teammate that has inspired you? Why
Kinney: Mason Woodward. Despite incredible achievements, he has maintained a humble approach and demeanor which makes him incredibly special.
