Pierce Washburn speaks on his time at MU. The senior midfielder has played in 37 games and has scored 9 goals along with 6 assists.
1. What is your most memorable experience with the team?
Washburn: Our team trip to Austin, TX was very memorable as it allowed us to live with guys outside of class and to see a new city together.
2. What's the best advice you could offer future Marquette lacrosse players?
Washburn: Be humble so that you are always hungry to get better and outwork everyone to become extremely confident in your abilities.
3. Most memorable game? Why?
Washburn: Beating Penn State last year was special as it was a big win for the team and also to honor Coach Stimmel's father-in-law.
4. What has motivated you?
Washburn: Falling short of goals has motivated me to work harder as I believe I always have more to prove.
5. How do you think you've changed as a player or person over your career at Marquette?
Washburn: I have grown to believe in myself more and trust that the work I do has set me up for success.
6. What is your favorite thing about the city of Milwaukee? Why?
Washburn: Even though it is a smaller city, it offers a lot of activities with the beach and so many places to eat.
7. What have you learned that you will take with you as you move on from MU?
Washburn: I have learned that relationships are the most meaningful part of life and you should always pour into other people.
8. Who is a teammate that has inspired you? Why?
Washburn: Mason Woodward. He has inspired me a lot as he is extremely humble and while extremely talented he is always outworking everyone.
