Ighodaro, Mitchell Named Academic All-Americans

Duo first Marquette players honored since Marc Marotta in 1984
Marquette University men's basketball players Oso Ighodaro and Stevie Mitchell have been named to the 2023-24 Academic All-America® men's basketball teams as selected by the College Sports Communicators, announced Wednesday morning.
Ighodaro (Second Team) and Mitchell (Third Team) were both honored for the first time in their respective careers and are the first Marquette players to be honored since three-time selection Marc Marotta in 1984.
Ighodaro, the BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned his bachelor's degree in finance (3.53 GPA) in three years before completing his master's work in business administration (3.80 GPA).
A two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection, Mitchell owns a cumulative grade-point average of 3.96 and has been on the dean's list five times. He's double majoring in finance and information systems and has multiple semesters with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
