Senior guard ninth player in program history to earn honor
Marquette guard Kam Jones has earned Consensus Second Team All-America honors after being named to both the NABC and USBWA All-America teams on Wednesday morning.
The Memphis native earned NABC Division I All-America Second Team accolades and was tabbed USBWA Second Team All-America. Earlier in the month he was named second team by the Sporting News and on Tuesday was tabbed second team by Associated Press, making him a consensus selection in a point system utilized by the NCAA.
Jones, a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team honoree, helped guide Marquette to a 23-10 overall record and a No. 7 seed in the South Region of the NCAA tournament. MU opens play on Friday at 6:35 p.m. CT against 10th-seeded New Mexico in Cleveland, Ohio.
