WTEN Falls 4-2 In BIG EAST Championships First Round To Georgetown

CAYCE, S.C. – The Marquette University women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to Georgetown on Thursday morning in the first round of the 2025 BIG EAST Championships, concluding the Golden Eagles' season.
MU opened the match by securing the crucial doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, taking a 1-0 lead.
Freshman Joelle Fiallo Schad earned the lone singles point for the Golden Eagles with a quick two-set victory at the No. 5 spot (6-0, 6-3).
The Hoyas clinched the match with four straight-set wins at the No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 singles positions.
Thursday's loss brought Marquette's dual season to an end. Senior Tiera Jarmond led the Blue and Gold in singles victories during the 2025 season with nine wins.
In doubles action, the duo of Tiera Jarmond and Andie Weise anchored the Golden Eagles at the No. 1 spot, finishing the season with eight wins.
