National Anthem Submissions - Marquette University Athletics

MUBB 2020-21 National Anthem Video Submissions

Marquette University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is accepting National Anthem video submissions for the 2020-21 basketball season. Fans are all invited to submit performance videos virtually. In the event we are not able to have in-person performers, we will utilize the videos submitted.

National Anthem submissions must not exceed one minute and 30 seconds. Applications will not be accepted if the audition exceeds one minute and 30 seconds. Guidelines for video submissions are as follows…

Attire

We ask that all who submit a video be wearing Marquette attire or MU team colors
No attire or other branding from any other NCAA affiliated teams
We would like for all individuals who sing the anthem to not wear hats
If the performer wears glasses, we will ask them to make sure they avoid glares on the lenses

Video Background

We ask performers to use a solid-color background
Avoid windows and any backlighting

Filming the performance

Filming on a smartphone should work but other filming devices are encouraged as well
Please make sure the device filming the performance is still and is not moving
Stand 4-5 feet away from the camera/phone and have the video taken at eye level
If multiple singers are being filmed, we will ask to please make sure everyone is included and no one is cut off
Videos should be filmed in horizontal (landscape) format
Preferred file size is 1920px X 1080px and at 60 frames per second
Audio quality must be at a high level
MP4 and MOV files are acceptable

Video Submission Terms and Conditions

No commercial advertising, including company names, apparel brands, hashtags, social media handles, phone numbers, logos, and other branding
No political statements, logos, slogans, or other political content
Team-branded attire only
No third-party branding, including apparel and in video backgrounds
No offensive or negative comments about the institution or other NCAA schools or sports teams
No names, images, or likenesses of any NCAA players
No lewd, inappropriate, or offensive images

Marquette Athletics reserves the right to reject any video that it determines, in its sole discretion, violates these guidelines or is otherwise offensive, lewd, derogatory, infringing, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate. If your video is rejected, an athletics staff member will contact you about obtaining a new video.
