Serving on both the Athletics and University Advancement leadership teams, Tom Moran leads fundraising and supporter engagement strategy for Marquette Athletics. He joined the Golden Eagles in February of 2024.
Moran came to Marquette from Iona University in New Rochelle, N.Y., where he most recently served as Deputy Athletic Director. He was with the Gaels from 2014 to 2016, and again from 2018 to 2024. Moran’s direct supervisory responsibilities included athletics development, fan and donor experience, corporate partnerships, and ticket operations.
With Iona, Tom led efforts that substantially increased revenues from several streams. He and his team set multiple fundraising records despite facing the challenges of the pandemic, and implemented initiatives that led to unprecedented philanthropic engagement. He also oversaw a corporate partnership portfolio that grew exponentially under his leadership.
Tom’s administrative responsibilities with Iona included sport supervision of the baseball, men’s lacrosse, and men’s soccer programs. He also played a large role in the introduction of varsity men’s lacrosse and women’s acrobatics & tumbling at Iona in 2022.
Outside of higher education, Tom has held leadership positions in the private sector, managing client service teams responsible for major digital marketing integrations. Additionally, he has served in public relations and ticket operations roles with Barclays Center and the New York Mets.
Moran is a 2010 magna cum laude graduate of Manhattan University, where he played four years of baseball, serving as team captain his senior year. Tom was also head of the Jaspers’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He earned an MBA and advanced certificate in sports and entertainment media from Iona in 2015. A Connecticut native, Tom and his wife Tiffani reside in Mequon, Wisc. with their daughter Ryleigh Grace.
