The second winningest coach in Marquette men's basketball history, Bill Chandler amassed 193 victories over his 21-year career, second to only Al McGuire.
Chandler was president of the National Association of Basketball Coaches Association in 1938 and was instrumental in forming the NCAA Basketball Tournament.Â
He played center at Wisconsin and later coached at UW-River Falls, Iowa State and Wisconsin before becoming MU's fourth basketball coach in 1931.Â
His best year came in 1932-1933 when he directed the squad to a mark of 14-3. The following season, Marquette compiled an impressive 15-4 mark.
