When Ciara Jones completed her freshman season at Marquette in 2008 - the program had just finished its second straight losing season. When she played her final season in the 2011 the Golden Eagles earned their first NCAA tournament bid.
Marquette won 68 percent of its games in Jones' final three seasons - on the way, she connected on 1,140 career kills - seventh-most in program history.
Her career peaked as a senior captain - as Jones was an All-BIG EAST First Team pick, and an all-region and honorable mention AVCA All-America selection. She led Marquette to its first NCAA tournament win in December of that year, with a match-high 17 kills against a ranked Western Kentucky team.
