Morgan Proffitt (2013-16) was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year and All-BIG EAST First Team as a senior in 2016, becoming just the third player in program history named to the watch list for the Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy. She helped MU to a pair of BIG EAST regular season titles and one tournament championship and earned All-BIG EAST Second Team accolades in 2014. Marquette made two NCAA tournament trips during her tenure and she was tabbed to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team all four years. Drafted by the Chicago Red Stars No. 12 overall in 2016, she also helped the United States Under-23 Women’s National Team to a Gold medal at a Nordic tournament in England in the summer of 2015.
