KENOSHA, Wis. - The Marquette men's cross country team captured the title at UW-Parkside?s annual Parkside Invitational this afternoon. With four runners finishing the 8K race among the top 20 individual finishers, the Golden Eagles earned their first meet title of 1999.
Sophomore Jon Chenier led the way for Marquette, finishing eighth in a time of 25:47. Junior co-captain Joe Herington was tenth with a time of 25:51, while Matt Dunlavy (26:13) and Dave Lance (26:13) finished 15th and 16th, respectively.
The Golden Eagles took the title by earning 80 points, easily out-distancing second place Lansing CC, which finished with 96 points. Taylor?s Kip Rop earned the individual title, crossing the finish line first in a time of 24:39.
