MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Head coach Dave Uhrich announced today that his Marquette women's cross country team, ranked 26th in the country this week, will be competing at Indiana University's Pre-NCAA Meet in Bloomington, Ind., on Sat., Oct. 16. The Pre-NCAA Meet takes the place of the UW-Parkside Invitational, where the Golden Eagles were originally scheduled to participate.
"The Pre-NCAA Meet is a highly-reputable meet which annually features some of the top teams in the country," Uhrich said. "We feel our women belong with those teams and this will give us a chance to see where we stand, nationally."
This year's women's race, scheduled to start at 11:15 a.m. (CT), features 17 of the top 25 teams in the nation. The Marquette women last competed in the Pre-NCAA Meet at Iowa State in 1995.
The Marquette men and the Golden Eagle women's "B" team will still be competing at the UW-Parkside Invitational.
