Marquette picked up the doubles point and four singles wins to secure the victory
MILWAUKEE, WIS.Ā -Ā The Marquette University women's tennis team logged a 5-2 win over Chicago State on Sunday afternoon.
On the doubles side, Emma Davis and Elise Barnstedt took a 6-3 win in the first position to clinch the point for the Golden Eagles.Ā
Due to a default win in singles, Marquette opened singles 2-0. Maria Poon logged the third point for MU in a 6-1, 6-1 effort against King. Davis also logged a straight set win, defeating Sanchez 6-3, 6-3 clinching the match for the Blue and Gold. Luciana Mendoza closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Hughes.
Chicago State picked up two singles in in the first and fourth position.
