"Marquette is honored and proud to work with the Wisconsin Center District and Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau in hosting this outstanding tournament," remarked Marquette Director of Athletics Bill Cords. "We have tremendous sports fans in Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin and look forward to joining with them to make the 2001 Conference USA Women's Basketball Championship a great success."
"We are very excited about the opportunity to host this fantastic tournament," stated Marquette head coach Terri Mitchell. "Women's basketball fans throughout the state will have a chance to see four days of terrific college basketball.
