MILWAUKEE - The 1999-2000 Marquette men's basketball team concluded the 1998-99 season ranked 28th nationally in attendance. Marquette averaged 11,905 fans this season for 16 regular season home games. That was a 3.4% increase from 11,508 the previous season. There are a total of 310 Division I programs sponsoring men's basketball.
Marquette's average attendance was fifth best in Conference USA, trailing Louisville, Saint Louis, Memphis and Cincinnati. The average attendance was third-highest among teams in NBA cities, trailing the University of Utah and the University of Minnesota. The average attendance was second among schools that do not sponsor football (trailing Saint Louis) and fourth among private institutions (behind Saint Louis, Vanderbilt, & Dayton).
