Golf Team Finishes Ninth At Hawkeye Intercollegiate

After back-to-back rounds of 292 yesterday, the Marquette golf squad came in with a 305 final-round score to finish ninth at the University of Iowa's Hawkeye Intercollegiate this afternoon. Kent State took the team championship with an 859, while Marquette concluded play with an 889. Just ten team strokes separated second and ninth place.
The Golden Eagles were led by junior Tim Jacobs, who finished fourth in the individual competition with an even-par 216 (72-72-72). Jacobs was only five strokes back of individual champion Dustin Risdon of Kent, who shot a five under 211. The three-round score of 216 was a collegiate career low for Jacobs.
