WOMEN TRACK & FIELD READY FOR NEW MILLENIUM

MILWAUKEE - UP NEXT The Marquette women?s track & field team returns to action after more than a month layoff to compete in the Badger Track Classic in Madison, Wis., this Sat., Jan. 15. The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. (CT) in the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It will be Marquette?s first meet of the new millenium. The Golden Eagles will compete with the host-Badgers. Though the field has not been determined as of press time, the University of Minnesota and Northern Iowa both have competed in this meet in the past. According to Marquette women?s track & field coach Dave Uhrich, this meet will give him an indication where his team is at in the early stages of the season.
LAST WEEK The Golden Eagles have been off since the Ted Haydon Classic in Chicago, Ill.,on Dec. 4 due to Marquette University?s winter school break.
