Marquette Wrestlers To Compete At Michigan State Invitational

The Marquette Unviersity men's wrestling team will travel to East Lansing, Michigan this weekend to compete at the Michigan State University Open. The meet will kick off on Saturday, November 18, at 9:00 a.m. (CST) at Jenison Field House and conclude with the finals on Sunday that will begin at noon (CST).
Some of the top teams in the nation and the Midwest will be on hand. No. 7 Michigan, No. 18 Ohio State, No. 23 Purdue, and host, No. 10 Michigan State will all be among the over twenty teams competing.
This is the Golden Eagles' second meet of the season. Last weekend, they competed at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational. Freshman James Jaramillo (Belen, N.M.) got his Marquette wrestling career off to a good start by winning the Silver Division-125 pound bracket. He finished a perfect 4-0. Another freshman, Mike Kratz (Oconto Falls, Wis.), managed to finish third in the Silver Division-184 pound bracket with a 1-2 record. Senior Peter Butville (Neshaminy, Penn.), who is ranked 17th in the nation at the165 pound class, finished third in the Gold Division of his class. He finished the tournament with a 5-1 record.
Following this weekend's competition at Michigan State, the Golden Eagles will travel to River Falls, Wisconsin, for the Northern Open on November 24.
