MILWAUKEE - Up Next- The Marquette University men's tennis team (3-4) will be back in action on Fri., Feb. 25, when they host Evansville at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium at 4 p.m. (CT).
Last Week-On Fri., Feb.18, Marquette was defeated by Butler University 5-4 at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium. In a tightly-fought contest, the Bulldogs would win the dual match when Peter Voelz defeated junior Brian Verban (Bloomington,Ill.,/Bloomington) 6-3, 4-6 (7-6) tiebreaker. The Golden Eagles battled the Bulldogs hard with wins by senior Carlo Rossi (Preston, Australia/St. Kevin's College), junior Bart Cordmeijer (Badhovedorp, Holland/Keizer Karrell) and freshman Justin Holsen (Milwaukee, Wis.). The team of Rossi and Verban were victorious in the doubles competition.
