Marquette is back home on Sunday to face NIU
KALAMAZOO, MI. -Â The Marquette University men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to WMU on Friday afternoon.
The Broncos started the match by winning the doubles point with victories at the second and third positions, giving them a 1-0 advantage.
WMU then picked up five singles victories to seal the match.
Kristian Blagoev recorded the lone point for the Golden Eagles as he saw his match go into extended sets. Blagoev dropped the first set 4-6, but responded in the second taking the tiebreak 7-5. It was all Blagoev in the superset as he clinched the point 10-2.
Clayton Anderson also saw his match go into extended sets after dropping the first 6-2. Anderson was able to maintain composure in the second taking a 7-6 win. Despite his best effort, Clayton was outlasted 10-8 in the third set.
UP NEXT
MU will be back in action Sunday, February 22 in Milwaukeee as they face NIU.
First serve is set for 11:00 a.m. CT.
