Chris Curtin Named MVP of 1999 Volleyball Team

Senior Chris Curtin (New Lenox, Ill.) was named the Most Valuable Player of the 1999 Marquette volleyball team at the school's All-Sports Banquet on Wednesday, April 26.
Curtin, a first-team choice to the 1999 Conference-USA All-League Team, finished second on the team in kills (371), kills per game (3.37) and blocks per game (0.88). Her kill total placed her eighth on the school's seasonal list while her hitting percentage of .253 ranked her ninth. She recorded 21 double-figure kill matches including four contests of 20 or more kills. Curtin helped the Golden Eagles to an overall record of 18-13 with the 58.1 winning percentage representing the program's highest mark since 1985. In league play, MU finished with a 9-7 slate, the most wins by a Marquette team since joining C-USA.
Career-wise, Chris finished first on Marquette's list for kills with 1,280 and kill attempts with 3,087. She finished second in block assists with 305 and her 68 block solos places her fifth.
