The Marquette wrestlers beat UW-Parkside 23-20 tonight to finish out the home portion of their season.
The first Golden Eagle victory was posted by George Flannick who moved up to the 285 pound weight class to wrestle Tyler Freeman. Freeman had an 80 pound advantage over Flannick. That didn't seem to bother Flannick who went on to post a 6-5 victory that got the Golden Eagles off to a fast start.
Marquette dropped the next two matches but Phil Bronsteatter battled back to defeat Steve Winter 7-3 in the 141 pound weight class.
Jake Herreld defeated Ken Filas 19-3 in the 157 pound weight class to inch the Golden Eagles closer.
Marquette trailed 20-11 following Dan Bernardo's loss in the 165 pound weight class but received victories by way of forfeit to ensure the victory.
