The men's outdoor track season starts this weekend with the Purdue Open in West Lafayette, Ind.
Purdue hosts the Open, which includes prominent teams from the Midwest. Marquette did not compete against Purdue during its indoor campaign.
The Golden Eagles are eager to start running after ending the indoor season in February with the Conference USA Championships, where the team finished fifth. Sophomore Marek Krawczyk is looking for continued success in the 400-meter dash, where he tied a school record during the indoor season. On the field, seniors Heath Roussel and Greg Uher hope to add to their achievements in the weight throw and shot put, respectively. Roussel set a meet record at the Lewis Invitational, and is ranked second on Marquette's all-time list. Uher set a personal best at the UW-Milwaukee Tune Up meet, throwing the shot put 56-9.5, good enough for third on Marquette's all-time list.
