The women's outdoor track season starts this weekend with the Purdue Open in West Lafayette, Ind.
Purdue hosts the Open, which includes prominent teams from the Midwest. Marquette did not run against Purdue during the indoor season.
The Golden Eagles are eager to start running after ending the indoor season in February with the Conference USA Championships, where the team finished fourth. The women set five school records in the indoor season (sophomore Susan Barth in the 5,000 meters, junior Jennifer Batie in the 300-meter dash, freshman Brianna Dahm in the 1,000 meters, senior Megan Kosman in the 60-meter hurdles, and junior Julie Sorrentino in the weight throw). They hope to continue their success in the outdoor season.
