Megan Kosman Stands Third In Heptathlon At Kansas Relays

Milwaukee -- Marquette University senior Megan Kosman (Lake Zurich, Ill.) turned in a strong performance on Wednesday during the first day of the heptathlon competition at the Kansas Relays and stands in third place out of 12 contestants.
Kosman finished the first day of the competition with 2,933 points and trails Katherine Livesey of Nebraska (3,286 pts.) and Koya Webb of Wichita State (3,004 pts.). Rounding out the top five are Taylor Cates (2,916 pts.) and Kristy Naef of UW-Milwaukee (2,906 pts.). Sophomore Amy Merrill (Santa Fe, NM) is another Golden Eagle participating in the event and holds down the 11th position with 2,300 points.
Kosman captured first place in the 100 meter low hurdles with a time of 14.14 seconds and posted a third-place finish in the 200 meters with a mark of 25.24 seconds. In the high jump, she finished with an effort of 4'11.50 while recording a mark of 30'02.25 in the shot put.
The competition concludes on Thursday (Apr. 19) with the long jump, javelin throw and 800 meters events taking place.
