Golden Eagles Get Conference Win Over DePaul

The Marquette men's tennis team earned a much needed Conference USA victory over DePaul Thursday, 4-3.
Marquette, despite losing the No. 1 doubles match, still earned the point. Bart Cordemeijer and Brian Verban defeated Andy Michael and Jevgenji Cariov of DePaul, 8-4. Justin Holsen and Kent Davies handled David Pitsch and Dan Bennett in the deciding match, 8-6.
Marquette trailed DePaul 3-2 with Gill and Brian Verban still on the court. Verban needed a tiebreaker to defeat Michael and tied the match up at 3-3. Gill was able to hold off a second set rally by DePaul's Sanjay Jeram to win the match in three sets and clinch the match for Marquette.
Mojzis continued his winnig ways at No. 1 singles with his seventh concsecutive match with a straight set victory over Maciek Jozwiak.
Marquette will now wait to receive their seeding for the Conference USA tournament. The tournament will begin April 19 in New Orleans.
