MILWAUKEE - Marquette sophomore forward Katie Michuda scored two goals late to put Louisville away, 4-0, in women's college soccer in Milwaukee. Marquette improves to 10-4-2 and 4-2-2 in conference play. Louisville falls to 5-9-1 and 1-5-1 in C-USA play.
Michuda scored in the 83rd and 86th minute after MU was up 2-0. Her first goal came off a corner kick from the foot of freshman midfielder Sarah Johnson. The second goal was assisted by sophomore midfielder Jessica Ratcliffe.
"We're excited for Katie and I'm sure she's happy as well." head coach Markus Roeders said. "With her scoring twice, it shows exactly what this program is about. We have depth and we have players that can produce at any time."
Senior forward Kate Gordon scored MU's first goal of the contest. Junior midfielder Laura Culhane fed Gordon in the 15th minute. Gordon assisted on the second Marquette score of the game. Freshman midfielder Julie Thompson sent a ball to the corner for Gordon who centered it to senior forward Ashley Spakowitz for the goal.
The win, MU's 10th of the year, marks the seventh consecutive year in which the Marquette women's soccer team has won 10 or more matches.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, Oct. 25 at East Carolina at 2 p.m. EDT.
