Postgame Notes From Marquette-Grambling Basketball Game

** Marquette shot 65 percent from the floor against Grambling, converting 39-of-60 attempts. The team's field goal percentage mark was the second-highest ever recorded at the Bradley Center, just shy of the 65.5 percent effort (36-of-55) against Dayton on Jan. 14, 1989.
** The 105 points tied Marquette's scoring record at the Bradley Center. The previous time a Marquette squad scored 105 points at the Bradley Center took place on Jan. 20, 1993, when it posted a 105-65 triumph over Delaware State.
** Marquette established Bradley Center school records for field goals with 39 (previous record was 37 on two occasions) and assists with 29 (previous record was 27 on two occasions). The last time MU registered 25 or more assists came against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 19, 2001.
** Saturday's game against Grambling marked Tom Crean's 100th as Marquette's head coach. Crean now has a school and career record of 64-36.
** Marquette scored 53 and 52 points in the first and second halves this afternoon, marking the fourth and fifth times it has registered 50 or more points in a half this season. During the 2001-02 campaign, the Golden Eagles scored 50 or more points in a half four times.
** Over the last four games, Marquette is shooting 57.3 percent from the floor (129-of-225) compared to the opposition's mark of 39.8 percent (99-of-249). In addition, MU enjoys an 89.5-65.8 per-game scoring advantage in the last four games.
** Junior Dwyane Wade continued his torrid shooting this afternoon, knocking down seven-of-10 from the floor en route to 23 points. Wade, who sank two-of-three from beyond the arc, converted seven-of-10 from the charity stripe as he chalked up his seventh game of 20 or more points this season and 16th of his career. Wade has 799 career points to his credit.
** In his last four games, Wade is averaging 27.0 points and shooting 67.2 percent (39-of-58) from the field. Through nine games, he is tossing in an average of 25.3 points and shooting 60.7 percent (88-of-145) from the floor.
** Senior Robert Jackson led all scorers with a season-high 26 points, one shy of tying his career best. Jackson, who has scored in double figures in all nine MU contests, hit on a career-high 12-of-17 from the floor with his 70.6 field goal percentage representing a season high. Jackson has hit on 50 percent or better from the field in seven games this year. Career-wise Jackson has totaled 973 points.
** Sophomore Todd Townsend enjoyed a big game with career highs in both points (16) and assists (5). The 6-foot-7 Townsend's previous career high in points was 11 set last season against Texas Southern. He converted on a career-high six-of-eight from the floor against Grambling.
** Sophomore Travis Diener doled out nine assists while contributing 12 points, his fifth game of double-figure scoring this year. Diener is nine assists shy of reaching the 150 mark in his career.
** Marquette tied its season high with 45 rebounds, the fifth time this year it had finished a game with 40 or more boards. During Crean's tenure as coach, Marquette owns a 53-11 record when rebounding the opposition (7-0 in 2002-03). MU is 23-3 under Crean when grabbing 40 or more rebounds.
** MU has outshot eight of nine opponents from the floor this year and stands 8-0 in those games, 32-1 since the 2001-02 season.
