Louisville, Ky. -- The 11th-seeded Golden Eagles 2002 season came to a close, as they lost to Charlotte, 4-0, in the first round of consolation play at the Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship.
The eighth-seeded 49ers defeated Marquette for the second time this season and will play the winner of the East Carolina/Saint Louis match. On March 23, Charlotte prevailed over the Golden Eagles, 7-0.
With the defeat, Marquette finishes the season with a record of 6-13. The squad ended the year tied for 11th place in Conference USA standings with a mark of 1-6.
