The Marquette men's and women's track and field team has its plans for Valentine's Day, most of the team will be in action at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa while some will head to Romeoville, Ill. to take part in the Lewis Open.
The Iowa State meet is one of the larger meets that Marquette will be participating in, it will include some of the top teams from the Midwest and the country. Included in the meet are Conference USA rival DePaul and crosstown rival UW-Milwaukee. The meet is a favorite of the athletes.
"Iowa State has a great track," said head coach Dave Uhrich. "It is 300 meters and has wide corners. It is a perfect opportunity for our athletes to get PR's."
The Iowa State Classic will take place Friday afternoon and all-day Saturday.
Marquette will send most of its field athletes to the Lewis Open that will take place on Friday night.
Results from the meets will be posted on www.gomarquette.com as soon as they become available.
