Larson Qualifies For NCAA Regional Meet in Hammer Throw

The Marquette men's and women's track and field teams traveled west on Interstate 94 to the Badger Twilight in Madison, Wis. today and turned in a number of strong performances in its final meet before the Conference USA Championships.
Junior Brianna Dahm continued her strong season, establishing a school record in the 1,500, breaking her own mark set earlier this season. Dahm's time today was 4:23.93 and moved her into the top ten in the region in that event. Dahm was named C-USA Athlete of the Week last week and her 1,500m time remains the best time in C-USA heading into next weekend's C-USA Outdoor Championships.
Senior Crystal Larson qualified for the NCAA Mideast Regional Meet in the Hammer Throw with a throw of 177-9, good for first place.
Senior Jessie Swan placed first in the 5,000m with a time of 17:13.49.
Sophomore Jenny Pribyl narrowly missed a school record in the Pole Vault with a jump of 10 feet 10 1/4 inches. The school record is 10-11 3/4.
Sophomore Crystal Andalcio-O'Neil placed first in the 100m with a time of 12.21. Andalcio-O'Neil has placed first in the 100m for the past two weeks. Junior Krystal Hardy placed fourth in the same event with a time of 12.85.
Sophomore Jake Remitz narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Regional Meet in the 800m, placing third with a time of 1:54.15. The qualifying time is 1:51.15. Sophomore Jason Crichton and Freshman Jon Shaffer finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
The C-USA Championships take place on Saturday, May 17 in Charlotte, N.C.
