C-USA Preseason Coaches' Poll Released

Memphis and Cincinnati ranked second and third, respectively, in the coaches? poll. Charlotte came in fourth, followed by UAB and DePaul. Marquette and Saint Louis rated seventh and eighth; TCU was selected ninth by the coaches. Southern Miss was picked 10th, followed by East Carolina, Tulane, Houston and USF.
Golden Eagles? senior point guard earned preseason All-Conference first team recognition for the second consecutive year. A candidate for the conference?s player of the year award and first team all-conference selection last season, Diener led C-USA in scoring (18.8) and assists (6.0) in 2003-04.
Diener is joined on the preseason all-conference team by Sean Banks (Memphis), Francisco Garcia (Louisville), Jason Maxiell (Cincinnati) and Curtis Withers (Charlotte). Garcia was chosen by the coaches as the preseason player of the year.
