The two Golden Eagles netters came ready to play against Ball State?s Jan Polhamus and Patrick Thompson in this afternoon?s match. Delmege and Van Lieshout jumped out to an early two set lead and were able to keep ahead throughout the pro-set match.
?The biggest thing is that our level of play was real consistent through the whole match especially because in pro-sets anything can happen,? coach Steve Rodecap said. ?It?s really important to have the same type of energy level and Pete and Troy were at the same level mentally and physically.?
Delmege and Van Lieshout are only one of two non-seeded tandems to be left standing in the quarterfinal round. They will take on two seeded Justin Hoevler and Adam Schaechterle of Northwestern tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
After the second day of competition, Delmege and Van Lieshout are the only two members of the men?s team left in play.
