Marquette Throwers Lead Track Team at Carthage College

Marquette throwers Emily Leklem and Jonathon Rosploch led the Track teams in competition at Carthage College this weekend.

Leklem bettered her own track record, with a winning mark of 47?01.50 in the shot put. She was followed by teammate Heather Thomason?s mark of 44?02.50, which gave her a second-place finish, and also topped Leklem?s previous track record.

Andrea Engelmann (2nd in the triple jump) and Lucky Denenga (3rd in the 55 Meter high hurdles) also gave strong performances for the women?s team.

The men were led by Rosploch?s meet record of 51?11.75 in the shot put. Andy Ballard also placed third in the shot put, with a throw of 49?11.75. Rosploch?s day also included a first place finish in the weight throw, with a mark of 51?06.25.
