Men' Tennis Ends Season Against Saint Louis

The Billikens earned the doubles point as Tom deLarzac and Thomas Kwong beat Troy Delmege and Ian Kawas, 8-4, at no. 2. At no. 3 doubles, Lance Vodicka and Taylor Curran posted an 8-6 decision over Creighton Macy and Ricky Servoss.
?The biggest thing is that we lost the doubles point,? coach Steve Rodecap said. ?It?s not the way you want to end your season. The guys are disappointed and I just hope that we had enough success this season to give these guys a little belief that if we work hard to get better we can take it to the next step next season.?
In singles, Vodicka defeated Kawas at no. 4, 6-3, 6-2. Kwong beat Eigis Vedrickas, 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot. Ikaika Jobe clinched the match for the Billikens with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Raj Gill at No. 1 singles.
Rodecap said he is proud of seniors Gill and Macy.
When I came in these guys really got on board with what I was going to do,? he said. ?They?ve put their mark on the season. We were lucky to have such leadership my first season.?
Saint Louis advances to the ninth place final, taking on Charlotte at 9 a.m. Saturday.
