After head coach Terri Mitchell introduced each member of the 2005-06 squad to the over 500 in attendance, the team played a 20 minute/two-half intrasquad scrimmage and then put on a show with several ballhanding and shooting contests. At the conclusion of the Fan Fest, the Golden Eagles held a photo and autograph session.
"We're all very excited to get the 2005-06 season underway." said Mitchell. "There was a great turnout this afternoon for Fan Fest and we are going to need that kind of support this season as we enter into play in the BIG EAST."
The event also served as a fundraiser for a very good cause. In conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, donations were collected for the Milwaukee Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program (MBCCAP). For a donation of $10, fans received a pink Marquette women's basketball t-shirt or hat, with all donations going to MBCCAP.
"It was a great day all-around. Our players got a chance to perform for the fans, have some fun, while also benefitting a great cause. I'm happy to have been a part of it." Mitchell said.
