Golden Eagles Open 2005-06 Regular Season at Evansville

Tonight, the Golden Eagles begin play in the 2005-06 regular season, opening up at Evansville.

Marquette is coming off an 18-12 season, in which the team advanced to its third consecutive postseason appearance.

MU captured both of its preseason exhibition games - 73-49 over Cardinal Stritch and 80-58 over Wis.-Stout. In those two games, the Golden Eagles displayed solid rebounding and frontcourt play, leading to two dominant wins.

Head coach Terri Mitchell, in search of her 170th career victory tonight, is 5-4 all-time in season opening games, including winning the previous two openers.

Marquette captured the last meeting with Evansville, 96-77, on Nov. 25, 2003.
