Tonight, the Golden Eagles take on in-state rival Wisconsin in non-conference play in Madison.
Marquette (3-1) is coming off a 76-48 win over Montana State in the second round of the Wingate Classic last week in Bozeman, Montana. Over the Thanksgiving break, MU took part in the two-game tournament, dropping the opening round matchup, 57-54, to Northern Colorado
As for the Badgers (4-1), they recently came off a second-place finish at the Rainbow Wahine Classic, in Honolulu, falling 76-57 to DePaul in the championship game.
Since elevating to the Division I level, Marquette and Wisconsin have met nine times, with UW holding a slim, 5-4 edge in the all-time series. Recent history shows, however, a decided blue and gold advantage, as the Golden Eagles have won four of the last five meetings, including the previous two. Almost a year ago to the day - on Dec. 1, 2004 - MU downed the Badgers, 78-64, at the Al McGuire Center.
The call for tonight's game from the Kohl Center will be by Kyle Dlabay and former MU standout Lesley Juedes and can be heard on Joy 1340 am, while a tape-delay broadcast of the game will be aired, state-wide, on Wisconsin Public Television, beginning at 11 p.m.
