The Golden Eagles (3-8) have spent the past two weeks preparing for these nationally ranked Michigan teams. Callan Smith leads the team with an overall singles record of 11-12 in 2004-05.
On Friday at 6 p.m. EST Marquette will meet Western Michigan, who comes into this match ranked 44th nationally and with a winning record of 7-3.
?Our strategy is basically the same,? said coach Jody Bronson, ?be fundamental, prepared, and have your mental game at every point. We have struggled with this all season and are trying to reach that point and move beyond."
Last year Marquette fell to Western Michigan at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium, 5-2. None of the current Golden Eagles saw success against the Broncos.
The Golden Eagles will face #42 Michigan on Saturday at 10 a.m. EST. Last year the Wolverines swept Marquette, 7-0. Michigan leads the all time series against Marquette, 7-0. Marquette will look to take advantage of a three match losing streak that the Wolverines have had.
After playing in Michigan, Marquette will head to Texas, March 22-24 to face SMU and Texas-Arlington. Marquette will return down south with a visit to Florida, March 28 and March 30.
