A-10 First Team All-Conference Performer Joins the Golden Eagles
MILWAUKEE — Marquette University women's tennis head coach Brett Barnett announced the signing of Emmerson White, an Oconomowoc, Wisconsin native and Atlantic 10 (A-10) All-Conference First Team selection, who will join the program after three seasons at Saint Louis University.
"I am excited that Emmerson has signed at Marquette to finish her college career," Barnett said. "She is a proven competitor who has been successful playing at the top of the lineup in the A-10. It was very clear when we began speaking with her how dedicated she is both on and off the court. She will strengthen our lineup immediately, and it is great that she can finish her college career at home. I am excited for Emmerson to arrive on campus and begin working with her."
White joins Marquette after three seasons at Saint Louis, where she established herself as one of the top players in the A-10 Conference. During the 2025-26 season, she earned All-Conference First Team honors, A-10 All-Academic recognition and College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors.
The Wisconsin native led the Billikens in singles wins (16), singles winning percentage (.696), total wins (25) and overall winning percentage (.581) during her junior season. She posted a 16-7 singles record, including a 12-4 mark at the No. 1 position, which was the best dual singles record on the team. She also tied for the team lead with nine doubles victories and helped lead Saint Louis with seven dual doubles wins alongside Madison Hill at No. 1 doubles.
White recorded a 10-match singles winning streak during the season, the longest on the team, and earned A-10 Player of the Week honors for Feb. 9-15. She also collected singles wins against Saint Joseph's and Dayton at the A-10 Championship and earned a victory over Iowa State at the ITA Central Regional.
Throughout her career at Saint Louis, White compiled 38 singles wins and 26 doubles victories while earning multiple academic honors. As a sophomore, she earned CSC Academic All-District recognition, and as a freshman she was named A-10 Rookie of the Week twice.
Prior to her collegiate career, White was ranked as the top recruit in Wisconsin and achieved a USTA national ranking of No. 150. She competed in tournaments across the country, including the 2022 Midwest Closed, where she advanced through five rounds. White also competed in gymnastics, traveling to the National Olympic Training Center in Houston.
