Marquette started out the evening battling for the doubles point. In all three matches the Golden Eagles were not able to come up with wins. Only the duo of Andrea Bukacek and Katie Donovan were able to take the match from Colleen Mead and Pryanka Parekh, 8-1, in an exhibition No. 4 match.
Down 1-0, the Golden Eagles lacked the intensity they needed to recover in singles play. The Broncos were able to take the match from Marquette at all six positions including at a No. 7 exhibition match.
Maria Calbeto fell to Carrie Jeanmaire at No. 2, 6-4, 6-3. At No. 4, Erin Watkins put in a strong effort for Marquette but came up short against Reedhina Parekh, 7-5, 6-0.
Marquette will stay in Ann Arbor, Mich. and take on #42 Michigan tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Varsity Tennis Center.
