3/29/2005 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Always a highlight of the Final Four Weekend, the event will be held Thursday, March 31 at the Washington University Field House beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT. For those not in Saint Louis, ESPN will carry the evening?s festivities beginning at 8:00 p.m. CT. Brad Nessler, Steve Lavin and Mark Jones will call the action.
Diener, who missed the team?s final five games due to a left hand injury, is a career 41.3-percent shooter from three-point range and is the school?s all-time leader in three-point field goals (284). In 2004, the 6-1 guard totaled a school record 90 three pointers.
Seemingly on his way to breaking the record he had just established, Diener opened this season by converting 47 of his first 100 three-point attempts, including a career-high seven against Nebraska on December 21. For the season, he shot 40.5-percent from three and made 68.
Diener will be joined in the competition by his cousin, Drake Diener, from DePaul University. Other competitors include Duke?s Daniel Ewing, Oklahoma State?s John Lucas, Texas? Ronald Lucas, Washington?s Tre Simmons and Vermont?s T.J. Sorrentine.
