Women' Tennis Falls to UCF

The No. 1 duo of Maria Calbeto and Callan Smith started the day off with a win over Pamela Fernandez and Becky Gordon, 8-4, in doubles play. This was the only win the Golden Eagles saw in doubles resulting in a 1-0 deficit.
Marquette was only able to come away with one victory in singles play. Elsemieke Dokter persevered through the longest match of the day, taking down Ola Luczak at No. 3. She won the first set, 7-6, dropped the second set 0-6, and went on to win the tiebreaker with a score of 14-12.
The Golden Eagles travel to Tampa, Florida, where they will face USF tomorrow at 11:00 p.m.
