Women' Tennis Swept by USF

Marquette lacked the intensity needed to take the doubles point from the Bulls. Callan Smith and Maria Calbeto lost to the nationally ranked duo of Gabriela Duch and Neyssa Etienne, 8-2, at No. 1. South Florida?s Liz Cruz and Luisa Obando stole the match from Erin Watkins and Elsemeike Dokter, 8-2.
The Bulls were able to sweep Marquette in singles play, giving up their only point on a default due to injury. Calbeto lost a hard fought battle at No. 2, with #75 Courtney Vernon, only to come up short, losing 6-3, 6-4. At No. 5, Dominika Dabrowski was defeated by Obando, 6-2, 6-3.
The Golden Eagles return home on Sunday after an eight match road streak, where they will take on Conference USA opponent Cincinnati at 9 a.m.
