The east just got bigger

April 21, 2005 - Over 2,000 Marquette basketball fans turned out on a brisk but sunny Thursday afternoon for the athletics department?s BIG EAST Rally held at Westowne on the university?s campus.

Celebrating its impending move into one of college athletics? premiere conferences, the event featured the Golden Eagles? head men?s basketball coach Tom Crean and head women?s basketball coach Terri Mitchell.

Fans of all ages were treated to food provided by Famous Dave?s Barbeque, music, games, autographs from the men?s and women?s teams, as well as appearances by the Golden Eagle, MU?s cheerleaders and band.

Marquette officially joins the BIG EAST Conference on July 1, 2005.
