Dahm advances to NCAA Championships with fifth-place finish

Four Marquette Women Compete at Track Regionals
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Four Marquette women?s track and field members competed at the NCAA Track and Field Mideast Regionals on the second day of the meet.
Senior Brianna Dahm posted the best finish of the regional for Marquette. Dahm placed fifth in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase, recording a time of 10:23.53. Her placement automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Championships, her third appearance in the NCAA Championship meet in the event.
Junior Terri Emond placed 13th in her heat in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase, recording a time of 11:09.34.
Freshman Cassie Peller placed ninth in the 1,500 meters, recording a time of 4:34.77.
Senior Emily Leklem also competed in the regional meet in the shot put. In three throws, Leklem recorded just one fair throw, tossing the shot put 48-feet, 10-inches on her second throw. She failed to advance to the finals, finishing second in her flight.
Dahm will compete at the NCAA Championships from June 8-11 in Sacramento, Calif.
